Zsolt Kácsor

Zsolt Kácsor (1972) is a Hungarian writer and journalist. Born in Eger, he lives in Budapest. Since 1990, he has published in leading Hungarian newspapers and literary journals. In 1992, he won first prize in a national reportage competition organized by the Soros Foundation and the literary weekly Élet és Irodalom, to which he has been a regular contributor ever since. From 2000 to 2016, he worked as a staff journalist for the daily newspaper Népszabadság. Since 2016, he has been affiliated with the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities (Mazsihisz).

He is the author of several novels, including Barbarus – A Hungarian Story (2008), King Stephen's Blog (2009), Vladimir the Terrible (2012), Gypsy Moses (2020), and Bipolar Hell-Ride (2023). The Czech translation of Gypsy Moses was published in 2025 by Protimluv Publishing. A stage adaptation of the novel premiered at Budapest's Katona József Theatre in 2022 and has been performed to sold-out audiences ever since. He is currently working on a new collection of short stories and a stage play.
