MARCIN BARAN (1963) is a poet, editor and organizer. He studied Polish philology at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. He is the co-founder of the “bruLion” (1986) quarterly. He made his debut in 1990 with a collection of poems titled Pomieszanie (Confusion). Most recently, he published Niemal całkowita utrata płynności (An Almost Complete Loss of Fluidity, for which he won the Silesius Poetry Award in the Book of the Year cathegory in Wrocław), Zebrane (Taken) and – together with Marcin Sendecki – a poem entitled Koniec wakacji (The End of Vacation, 2019).

In collaboration with Marcin Sendecki and Martin Świetlicki, he compiled two anthologies; Długie pożegnanie. Tribute to Chandler (A Long Farewell. Tribute to Chandler, 1997) and Żegnaj, laleczko. Wiersze noir (Goodbye, Doll. Poetry Noir, 2010).

He is the Program Director of the Bruno Schultz festival in Wrocław and works for a museum in Kraków.
